Welcome to Your Smokies Vacation Getaway!
The Smokies Vacation Getaway is a pleasant cabin lovingly cradled between the Foothills Parkway and the Smoky Mountains National Park in East Tennessee.
The cabin is situated roughly two miles from the Abrams Creek entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Once inside this section of the Park, historical and natural attractions are nearby, as well as several trails. The most prominent attractions are Abrams Falls, Tom Hearon’s Spring, and The Cane, which are located off of Cooper Road Trail. The cabin is located within 3 miles of Look Rock Observation Tower, Picnic Area, and Foothills Parkway. It is also located within a 30 minute to 1 hour ride of Cades Cove and Townsend. Go to http://www.nps.gov/grsm for more information or visit our Links page for other area attractions.
Also, nearby are Chilhowee, Tellico, and Fontana Lakes, and the Dragon portion of US Highway 129 South. Chilhowee is a man-made lake (as evident by Chilhowee Dam) constructed by The Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) in the late 1950's. The Dragon is “America’s number one motorcycle and sports car road,” with 318 curves in 11 miles.
